JOSIAH CAIN is a landscape architect with 16 years experience as an ecological design professional. He founded a design/build firm in 1997, and for 8 years provided ecologically-driven master plans and innovative green projects to hospitality, schools, developers, and residential clients internationally. After graduate studies, Cain then managed an office for an influential, nationally recognized ecological design firm, leading project teams for civic clients such as the New York Dept. of Environmental Protection(DEP), University of California, and the California Academy of Sciences, in addition to a high-end corporate and residential clientele. Cain was raised on a remote organic homestead along the Trinity River, in Northern California. He holds a BS in landscape architecture from UC Davis and a Master of Design Technology & Environment from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
JERRY GROSS has over 20 years experience as an executive and CIO in companies such as Intuit, McKesson, Westpac and Accenture, and has been instrumental in pioneering online technologies and e-commerce business. Born and raised in Australia, Gross experienced the hardships of living with severe water restrictions mandated during Australia's long droughts. Through this experience, he has become a leading advocate of sustainable water management solutions that leverage advanced monitoring technologies. Gross is a Founding Partner of Design Ecology, LLC as well as the CEO of Storm Sustainability, LLC, a leading provider of water management and renewable energy solutions to the Residential, Education and Commercial markets. Gross holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
CAEL KENDALL is an executive leader with over 20 years experience in the
green building industry. As a pioneer in ecological forest products
and former CEO of EcoTimber, Cael worked extensively within the
architectural and design communities. He has managed a wide spectrum of
commercial, residential, and civic green projects, developing a reputation
as an innovative problem solver and creative collaborator in the green
building community. Cael has a passion for linking resources and people, and
is driven to develop holistic building systems that are low impact, local,
and enduring. He holds a BA in liberal arts from St John’s College in Santa
Fe.
